A Message from Pastor Lynnae

“Consider the lilies of the field, they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.” Matthew 6:28b-29
Consider the lilies – we often jump immediately to the don’t worry part of this scripture, but this summer maybe you could “consider” a little more.
While you are out in your backyard, consider the beauty of your grass and plants.
While you are at the lake, consider the waves and ripples of the water.
When you see that hawk, consider the amazing creation of its wings.
When you spy that doe with her fawn, consider the absolute cuteness of new life.
Considering is more than just thinking on. To “consider” is to weigh the possibilities of grandeur. To “consider” is to appreciate. But, above all to “consider” is to give thanks to God.
Once we are truly thankful, then we actually don’t worry as much. We sit in confidence of God’s love. The beauty of creation assures us of God’s ongoing mystery, that we are privileged to participate in.
This summer a season of vacations and outdoor activities – may you consider more.
With Hope,
Pastor Lynnae I Sorensen
