Christmas Fruit Cake

4 cups mixture of nuts
3 cups dates (chopped)
1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1 bottle red Marchino cherries
1 bottle green Marchino cherries
Make 1 month before Christmas
Combine nut meats and dates. Cover with sugar. Add cherries as whole or halved.
Use the juice. (Use 2 jars of red cherries if the green isn’t available.)
Sift the dry ingredients together. Add beaten eggs. Add to first mixture.
Put into 2 greased loaf pans.
Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
