Memories of family dinners

When growing up, Advent and Christmas in my family were celebrated for the right reasons. We didn’t have a lot in those days but Mom and Dad always made Christmas Eve dinner special with “lutefisk”, ribs, lefse and all the trimmings.

Now with my own family, “lutefisk” is not the highlight of their Christmas dinner but it still is mine. In spite of their many unfavorable comments, I buy lutefisk for ME, (sometimes Don will buy it) and prepare it for ME. While the rest of the family is enjoying their meal, I ignore their comments and savor my lutefisk!

Memories of my immediate family, Grandma, aunts and uncles gathered around the table in our small farm house on Christmas Eve are cherished.
