A Way in the Wilderness Lent Study
Throughout the Lenten season, Hope Lutheran will be exploring "A Way in the Wilderness." Each week is highlighted with a devotional based on that week's readings that you will also hear on Sunday mornings at worship. The devotional draws attention to the theme, and our experience of “A Way in the Wilderness” as well as referencing our ancestors in faith and their journey. We always come back to the journey of Jesus to the Cross where he died for our sins, and gave us the gift of new life. Jesus’ examples and lessons will help us in our journeys as well.
The materials have been prepared by the ELCA World Hunger program, and include stories of their projects to help people in need around the world. This helps us understand what the Hunger ministry of our church is about, and also gives us insight into the journeys of our global companions in faith.
There will be regular offerings for Hope Lutheran at the midweek services. Giving opportunities during Lent will also be available. You may contribute to the ELCA World Hunger program, and/or to the “Water to Thrive” program which Hope has been involved with over a number of years, endeavoring to build wells in Ethiopia. More information about both of these offering opportunities will continue to be available throughout the Lenten season.
