Worship from Home

March 13, 2020

Dear Friends,

Hope Lutheran is a place of relationship! It is a place to make connections, where we gather to sing, pray, commune, share peace and fellowship – and these very things have become sources of infection and fear! As we attempt to mitigate the passage of COVID 19, Hope Lutheran announces: “Stay home to worship”. All events are cancelled for the upcoming week, including Lenten services.

We have always maintained that “church” is the people and not a place or a service. Not gathering for worship for a brief period of time is not a test of our faith. God walks with us in this time.

While we will not physically gather for worship, praise and worship will go on – just in different ways. While this is unprecedented, God made us creative and we can adjust. It may not be what you are used to, but it is not forever.

+There are prayers on our web site.

+We will be sending out videos of message and music.

+Both Our Saviors and First Lutheran will continue to broadcast worship – even if the congregation is not gathered.

Please stay attentive to our website and Facebook page for updates. We have identified “Buddies” for each of our members and so you will get a check in phone call from your buddy. Pray together and stay informed.

In these anxious times, we are most concerned for the vulnerable among us. These decisions are for the safety of all.

God is with us. God is good.

With Hope,

Pastor Lynnae I Sorensen
