A message from Pastor Lynnae

It is Pentecost. It is the birthday of the church. Pentecost is the longest season of the church year. Pentecost Day is a red day, but the rest of the season is green. It is a season of growing. Sometimes the season of Pentecost is called “ordinary time.”

This is anything but “ordinary times” but it seems that in these days we can take the time to do a little deeper study. We probably have the time to do a deep study of Luther’s Large Catechism, but, maybe we should start with a review of his Small Catechism. How much do you really remember from your confirmation days? Maybe you didn’t go to confirmation and so this will be a great introduction to Luther’s works? Whatever your circumstance, you are invited to join me as we have Adult Confirmation.

I’m going to be doing a virtual confirmation review for these weeks until we can safely gather again – person-to-person. I will do video messages that will be sent on Wednesdays. An Augsburg Fortress resource called: By Heart, a Comprehensive Resource on the Small Catechism will be my guide. You can hunt up your old Small Catechism. If you don’t have one, you can order one from Augsburg Fortress OR stop by the church and borrow an Evangelical Lutheran Worship Book (Hymnal) as the Small Catechism is in there!

We will study; The Ten Commandments, The Apostles Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Baptism and Holy Communion.

Feel free to message me or call with questions! We grow into Pentecost.

With Hope,

Pastor Lynnae
