Welcome to New Choir Director Andrew Robinette
“When in our music God is glorified
And adoration leave no room for pride,
It is as though the whole creation cried: Alleluia!” ELW #851
It is with joy that we introduce you to our new choir director, Andrew Robinette. Andrew comes to Hope with a great deal of experience in Lutheran church music leadership. He most recently served for five years as the choir director at First Lutheran in Brookings. Andrew’s first directing gig, in 1995, was leading a bell choir!
Presently, Andrew is the Associate Director of Choral Activities at South Dakota State University. Among his duties are directing the Statesmen (70 voice men’s ensemble) and the Westminster Singers (20 voice ensemble). He teaches classes in conducting, choral methods and voice among other studies! This last year, Andrew received the Griffith Academic Award from SDSU. Among his conducting accomplishments are listed leading Handel’s Messiah, Requiems by Daley, Rutter and Schnittke as well as Vivaldi’s Gloria.
Andrew and his wife, their children, Adrienne and Grayson, live very close to the church and are happy for the short commute.
Please join us in welcoming Andrew and his family to Hope Lutheran. If you are interested in joining either of our choir’s, please talk with Andrew as he is anxious to grow this music ministry.
