A message from Pastor Lynnae

Luther said, “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.” Sing a new song unto the Lord!

It’s that time again! Everything is starting up and among those “things” is choir! Both Vocal choirs (sanctuary and praise) and Hand Bell choir begin September 4th. Music keeps your mind young and your heart full. No, really it does. It is a proven fact! Breathing deeply, counting rhythmically, and the blessings of offering special music for God is all fulfilling.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

You don’t have to read music or have an opera style voice. No, you just have to be able to breathe and let the sound out! Andrew (the director) will help you with the rest. And, BELLS are So Much Fun! All you have to do is be able to count.

I believe that the best way to grow, the most fruitful way to support ministries, the most effective way to increase a budget, is to have excellence in worship. That is my purpose for every Sunday morning. I intentionally pick the images to compliment the scriptures. I read and re-read the bulletin, slides and announcements to make sure that we minimize errors. I work to manage the length of the service as to utilize time well. I change things up, like the liturgies, creeds, and prayers to match the seasons and themes.

But, your participation is vital to the worship of God. We need you. Some say that the biggest reason that they don’t join a choir is because they can’t make the commitment. I say, just try. We don’t judge and we won’t shame you.

“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

With Hope,

Pastor Lynnae Sorensen
